Cambodia Travel Recommendations

Any recommendations on travel agencies that specialize in Thailand/Cambodia?

I live in Chicago so a Chicago Travel Agent would be ideal, but anywhere would be good! We are going in a month and dont know where to stay/how to plan excursions in Siem Riep, Cambodia or where in Thailand to go/stay for good weather, relaxing and a little sight seeing! Thanks for your help!

You really don’t need a travel agent to do everything for you!

I always purchase my plane tickets through the airlines websites. There are special prices every now and then. If you are flexible in your departure dates you can get the best price. Always check the prices before and after your preferred departure day to see if the fare price changes.

When you are in Thailand you can go to one of the many travel agencies all over the city to get your tours. Or, you could do it on your own with local transportation.

You can purchase your own round trip ticket to Cambodia from a travel agent in Bangkok (or Pattaya or Chiang Mai, etc.) These travel agents can provide the plane ticket or if you want a hotel too!

Tours and plane tickets to Cambodia are pretty routine too! You can even use a bus to get to Cambodia also!

For hotel recommendations mention how much you want to spend per night. Don’t say cheap, middle price or not too expensive, these are arbitrary terms – mention a dollar or baht amount.

Doing it yourself is the cheapest way to go. Hotels in Cambodia and in particular Thailand may be much cheaper than you think!

Doing the legwork yourself will save you lots of money.
Expedia, Kayak, Travelocity, etc. can give you some additional information if you don’t want to do it yourself.
