Cambodia: Bike and Boat

This is an exciting itinerary traversing the dusty roads and tranquil waters of Cambodia to ancient temples, exotic nature, and friendly floating villages. There is an option to expand this tour to include colonial Battambang, historical caves and an exhilarating bicycle ride across Cambodian countryside to the capital of Phnom Penh. This trip was created with community support in mind, providing substantial funding for educational programs in rural Cambodia and inspiring life changes in the travelers who participate.

Highlights

  • Cycle the world-famous temples of Angkor
  • Learn more about Cambodia by visiting this NGO’s (non-governmental organization) programs as well as programs of partner non-profit organizations
  • Experience authentic rural Cambodian life in a Chanleas Dai village
  • Cross the Tonle Sap lake, the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia
  • Visit Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary
  • Stay the night at a local homestay in floating villages of Tonle Sap

Unique Aspects

Throughout the trip, staff and tour leaders will provide insight into the work of development agencies in Cambodia, current issues, and lessons learned about responsible tourism. The required fundraising contribution will be channelled to programs visited on the tour, thus providing participants with peace of mind that their support will carry on far after they leave.
