Travel tickets, anyone please help?

I wondered if anyone could help with a question we have please??
We are due to fly out at the start of December this year for a year travelling.
Our route is
Manchester
Thailand (4 weeks)
Laos (4)
Vientnam (4)
Cambodia (2)
Thialand (south) (3)
malaysia (1)
Indonesia (16)
Aus – Mel (4)
Inidia (12)
Manchester
The weeeks are only a rough estimate.
We went to Sta travel to book our flights yesterday and we have 2 choices
Qantus £1295
Manchester – Bangkok
Singapore – Melbourne
Melbourne – Mumbai
Mumbai – Manchester
OR
Emirates – £1275
Manchester – Bangkok (Via Dubai)
Singapore – Melbourne
Melbourne – Singapore
Mumbai – Manchetser (we will need to buy an internal from bang/sing to mumbai)
I just wondered given all of the above, which one is the best deal? OR will we get a better deal elsewhere OR would it be cheaper to taylor our own flights and get them as we go?
