Cambodia Travel Currency

I’m going traveling – What should I do with the Korean won I have saved?

I’ve been working in Korea and have saved money in Korean won. It is currently still in my Korean bank account. I’m going traveling to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and India and was wondering what I should do with my money? I don’t have a clue so any suggestions will be much appreciated! Should I exchange the money into different currencies while I’m still in Korea, or should I take Korean won with me to each country and exchange it there? Is there a way to do it where I don’t have to carry around a huge amount of money with me?
Thank you :)

Depending on the rate your bank can give you might want to go to Korean Exchange Bank and then you can put in an order if they don’t have enough baht for your time in Thailand. I’ve done that before and you do save some money that way instead of changing to US and then again to Baht.

Also, you should definitely carry US as that won won’t be any use out of Korea. Again KEB or your bank should be able to change a large amount (bring passport and ARC), but you may have to put in an order in case they don’t have enough on hand (especially baht).

If you want to keep cash in Korean and then pull it out from the wall (ATM) then you could go with KEB too. Most banks in Korea don’t have a Visa plus debit card but KEB does have this so you might want to get one of those so you don’t have to carry too much cash.
